Meet the team
I graduated from the University of Surrey in 2004 with a degree in Hotel and Catering Management. After working in the Finance department of a chain of luxury hotels, I decided to progress my career in finance and am currently studying for my Level 2 ACCA award. My role is to ensure clients are kept happy and that our work is carried to the highest standards. Outside of work, my time is taken up by my two children and when I can, I enjoy relaxing with a nice glass of wine.
I am qualified to level 4 in Accounts and have worked in a diverse number of commercial sectors to build my practical experience. I started my career in accounts before obtaining a degree in teaching.
Towards the end of my 10 year period in teaching I setup and taught a business and accounting course in my school. This rekindled my passion for accounts and I decided to leave teaching to become a self-employed bookkeeper with SLH & Co .
I fit my busy professional role around caring for my 3 young children, volunteering for two treasurer roles and jointly running a local mother and toddler group to support new mums.
After a long career working as a civil servant with the Ministry of Defence, Government cuts lead to an early retirement. Working for SLH & Co. was the perfect opportunity to show off my knowledge of numbers and spreadsheets. I am responsible managing the clients in the Kent region and am currently studying for a professional qualification in Bookkeeping. I am a keen golfer and have almost achieved my goal of playing off single figures!
